UtahSBA: Duncan Biles Wins King Of The Mountain Race At UMC

© 2019, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc. From a press release issued By Thomas Dark on behalf of UtahSBA:.

Round 5 of the Utah Sport Bike Association Law Tigers Masters of the Mountains Road Racing series was held on September 14-15 at Utah Motorsports Campus’ 3.048-mile Perimeter configuration in Grantsville, Utah. Expert racer Duncan Biles of Biles Performance Racing was able to realize a personal goal as he secured his first career victory in the premier class this past weekend.

Duncan had this to say about his race victory: “It was a relief to finally be the first one to the checkered flag in the Moto Station King of the Mountain race. I’ve been in the mix all season, but there are so many great riders in the KOM race it’s really hard to win. We made some changes before qualifying that helped put us on the front row. I had a great start, and I wanted to build a gap before I picked up the brake-fade we struggled with the whole weekend on this insanely fast perimeter track. When I realized I was the first through turn one, I just put my head down and pushed hard to the finish.”

With a heavy heart expert racer Kellen Birch continued his successful campaign with three wins and a second place. “Friday night during registration I got the sad news that my Aunt Vicki had passed away. That weighed heavily on me all day Saturday and Sunday and had a hard time getting into a rhythm in the practice sessions. I tried to use that as fuel for my races and I ended up with a great weekend. I have to give a big thank you to my sponsors Trackstar Racing and Dunlop Tires. Thanks to Kory Cowan and Shane Turpin for helping me with a couple of things that were slowing me down, and to my teammate James Powelson for always pushing me.”

Round 6 will be held September 28-29, 2019 at Utah Motorsports Campus’ West Configuration. Registration is open now for this event. Register before September 20, 2019, to receive the early-bird discount rate for race Round 6. Visit www.motorsportsreg.com to register today.
