UtahSBA previews final round of the Masters of the Mountains 2012 season Tooele, Utah October 6th and 7th will see the season finale for the UtahSBA Masters of the Mountains race series at Miller Motorsports Park, Tooele, UT. Whilst the King of the Mountain #1 plate has already been secured by local rider Oleg Pianykh, the 600cc KoM ‘U’ class is still in contention with only 6 points separating Canadian riders Scott Decker, Chad Swain and Salt Lake City racer Gerry Hicks. The final showdown will be further enhanced with a ‘winner takes all’ purse of $1000 for the winner of KoM ‘O’ class, and $500 purse for the winner of the KoM ‘U’ class. In addition to the increased cash prizes, UtahSBA shall also be giving away $500 in a random drawing from registered racers (riders must be in attendance to win). For the final round of this exciting championship, UtahSBA will be waiving any reciprocity fee for visiting riders. Larger grids are also expected for the Endurance race on Saturday afternoon as concessions have been made for team captains to add riders to their team at no additional cost. UtahSBA treasurer Dana Wilson reported on the clubs website last week: “This is a one-time special deal and the rule changes [for this round] are our way of saying thank you for everyone’s support of the UtahSBA. We’ve had a good year and we hope these added perks will lead to an even more successful 2013 season.” UtahSBA is also encouraging new riders and trackday enthusiasts to take the plunge into racing with the clubs RacingExperience program. The RacingExperience program (implemented this year) has been very successful in taking riders to the next level with one-on-one classroom and track time. For Round 6 of the MoM series, new riders can get a head start in preparing for the 2013 season with a discounted $175 cost for participation. Other special events for round 6 will include; Pit Bike races on the Kart Track, Go-Kart racing, BBQ, gymkhana and racing on the big screen in the paddock. The final round of UtahSBA Masters of the Mountains series shall held at Miller Motorsports East track on October 6th and 7th. The Masters of the Mountains is a motorcycle road racing series organized by the Utah Sport Bike Association, held at Miller Motorsports Park, and sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA). The UtahSBA is a member-based non-profit organization committed to furthering the sport of motorcycle road racing through racing, rider education and safety.
