Vesrah Suzuki’s Tray Batey and John Jacobi continued their perfect 2008 season by winning Round Eight of the Bridgestone WERA National Endurance series, a four-hour event held Saturday at Barber Motorsport Park. Red flags and rain kept the race close until the final 35 minutes when Vesrah Suzuki pulled away in wet conditions to secure a one-lap margin of victory over Brand X’s Ben Walters and Brett Champagne. With the race win Vesrah Suzuki clinched the overall 2008 WERA National Endurance Championship. Zyvax Racing combined the talents of AMA Superstock regular David Anthony and its usual riders Steve Green, J.B. Layman and Scott Layman to win the Mediumweight Superbike class and take third place overall by 0.3 second over Wikle Racing’s father and son pairing of Luther and Russ Wikle.
