Vesrah Suzuki announces that the team will be competing with the #57 and #75 entries in the Daytona SportBike championship in the 2010 AMA Pro Racing season. Rockstar Energy Drink will be supporting the team as it enters into its 10th year as an American Suzuki support team and first full season of AMA competition. The team is making this move after contending in the WERA series for 9 years with success in both the National Endurance and Sprint championships. This new challenge would not be possible without the ongoing support of Mr. Aki Tamura of Vesrah Co. and American Suzuki. Penske Racing Shocks and Traxxion Dynamics Fork Components will provide the suspension and Graves Motorsports the exhaust for the team’s bikes, which will wear Hotbodies Racing Bodywork. Maxima Racing Oils will be in the team’s machines that are tuned on a Factory Pro dyno with Bazzaz Performance electronics. Dainese and AGV will protect the riders who will train using Trek Bicycles. Nielsen Enterprises Suzuki, Sudco Int., Vortex, DID Chain, GPR Stabilizers, GP Tech, Active and Road Rage Designs will also be supporting the team’s effort as they have in the past. Cory West will be riding the team’s #57 Suzuki GSX-R 600’s and hopes to continue with the excellent results he obtained while riding for the team last year. Jeff Wood will be riding the # 75 entry in the 2010 Daytona 200. Tony Pogue returns as the Crew Chief for Vesrah Suzuki’s effort and will be supported by much of the same crew as last year plus the addition of James Lickwar. The team is looking forward to competing in the Daytona 200 for the first time and hopes to put its years of endurance race and pit stop experience to good use in this legendary race. Mark Junge “I’m pleased that the team is switching to the AMA Pro Racing championship for the 2010 season and facing the challenges associated with this move. Vesrah Suzuki is ready to join the AMA series and follow the same path as the last dominant team in the WERA Endurance series. I’d like to thank all of Vesrah Suzuki’s sponsors for their faith in our program and continuing to support us in this new endeavor as well as Rockstar Energy Drink for contributing their support to our effort.” Cory West “Teaming up with Vesrah Suzuki to race in the AMA Daytona Sportbike Championship is awesome! Having worked with this incredible crew for a whole season last year on a 600, and winning the WERA 600 Superstock National Championship, gives me all the confidence I need going into this year. I know exactly what we are capable of doing together and I believe we will be one of the strongest teams at the track. I’m particularly thrilled about competing in the Daytona 200 with a team that is so dominant in endurance racing. I can’t wait for the season to start!” Jeff Wood – “I have been working hard my whole career towards the chance to race in the AMA on the right bike and over the years I’ve witnessed firsthand the quality of the Vesrah Suzuki team from bikes to crew. With Vesrah’s storied success in endurance racing coupled with their 2010 entry into the AMA Pro Racing Daytona Sportbike class I’m very excited to be riding in my first ever Daytona 200. The Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R 600 is a great motorcycle and with some hard work, and a little luck, we are looking to be up front at the end of the race! I’m really looking forward to getting on the bike, putting in a hard ride and posting good results for the team, sponsors and the fans and I have to thank Mark at Vesrah, Waterbridge Financial, Arai, and LD Designs for all their efforts into making this happen.”
