Vesrah Suzuki Wins 2007 WERA/AMA National Endurance Championship

Vesrah Suzuki’s Tray Batey, Mark Junge and Chris Ulrich won a 6-hour WERA/AMA National Endurance Series 6-hour at Jennings GP in Jennings Florida Saturday, securing the 2007 National Endurance Championship with one round remaining. The 2007 Series is the first co-sanctioned by WERA and AMA.

The Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R1000 completed 217 laps in the red-flag-shortened race, three laps more than the second-place bp Concepts GSX-R600 ridden by Opie Caylor, Keith Marshall and Ben Thompson. The Millnic Media Honda CBR600RR ridden by Steve Breckenridge, Melissa Paris and Cory West finished third overall with 211 laps, making Paris only the second woman to finish on the overall podium at a National Endurance Series event (the first woman was Melissa Berkoff, several years ago).

West moved the Millnec Honda into third overall in the closing stages of the race, running down, passing and pulling away from the Brand X GSX-R1000.

Vesrah Suzuki topped the Heavyweight Superbike class, while bp Concepts won in the Mediumweight Superbike class and Millnic Media Honda topped the Mediumweight Superstock class.

TVR/Team Moe’s Josh Day, Chuck Ivey and James Stroud won the Heavyweight Superstock class, finishing fifth overall on a Yamaha YZF-R1, with 210 laps.

Ghetto Customs’ Cale Swiger, Russ Stoddard, Chris Parrish and Tim Birdsong finished first in the Lightweight Superbike class on a Suzuki SV650, at ninth overall, with 206 laps.

5. TVR/Team Moe’s (Josh Day/Chuck Ivey/James Stroud), Yamaha YZF-R1, Heavyweight Superstock, 210 laps.

6. Dalke Motorsports (Diego Rojas/Gio Rojas/Taylor Knapp), Yamaha YZF-R6), Mediumweight Superstock, 209 laps.

7. Velocity Crew Racing (Kevin Perkins/Paul Youngman), Suzuki GSX-R600, Mediumweight Superbike, 209 laps.

8. Wizard Racing II (Mike Daniels/Dave Girardin/Ed Sullivan), Suzuki GSX-R600, Heavyweight Superbike, 207 laps.

9. Ghetto Customs (Tim Birdsong/Chris Parrish/Russ Stoddard/Cale Swiger), Suzuki SV650, Lightweight Superbike, 206 laps.

10. Team Westby (Dustin Meador/Dane Westby), Yamaha YZF-R6), Mediumweight Superstock, 206 laps.
