Vesrah Suzuki’s John Jacobi and Chris Ulrich rode a Pirelli-shod GSX-R1000 to victory at the opening round of the Bridgestone WERA National Endurance Series, a four-hour event held at Roebling Road Raceway in Bloomingdale, Georgia.

Vesrah Suzuki’s normal lead rider Tray Batey did not ride in the endurance race. He crashed during practice Saturday morning and suffered an injury to his right leg. Batey will also sit out Sunday’s WERA National Challenge Series sprint races. Second overall went to Team Maxxis Racing’s Billy Ethridge, Jeff Atwell and Tim Bemisderfer, who finished four laps behind Vesrah Suzuki but a scant 0.2 second ahead of Brand X’s Ben Walters, Jr., Brett Champagne and Tripp Nobles.

Fourth overall and first in Heavyweight Superstock went to TVR 131, on a Yamaha YZF-R1. Wikle Racing finished fifth overall and first in Middleweight Superbike on a Suzuki GSX-R600. Sixth overall and the Middleweight Superstock class win was taken by Dalke Racing on a Yamaha YZF-R6. Ghetto Customs, the Lightweight Superbike winners, placed seventh overall.

A total of 29 teams started the race. The race, which was run in very windy conditions, was interrupted by one red flag and 25-minute delay near the halfway point of the race.
