Jake Zemke took pole position for the 70th running of the Daytona 200 and dedicated the effort to friend and training partner Nathan Woods, who passed away from injuries sustained during practice for a WORCS Championship off-road race. Zemke and Project 1 Atlanta nearly pulled off a Cinderella story at Daytona when the practically unsupported team was in the running to win the race, but wound up taking the third spot on the podium.
