Editorial Note: Remember back in July when a local TV news crew accidentally exposed Kawasaki filming promotional videos for a sportbike believed to be a new Ninja 400? Well, Kawasaki revealed the new machine and a supporting video Wednesday during the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan. The only question remains: Will it be coming to America?

Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS/NON-ABS

Liquid-cooled

4-stroke Parallel Twin

DOHC 8-valve

Fuel Injection

399 cm³

Following the Ninja 300, a model renowned for delivering the high-performance Ninja brand’s trademark “Joy of Riding Control” and top-class styling in an easy-to-handle small-displacement package, the new Ninja 400 is a full model change with an increased displacement. It shares its general construction with the new Ninja 250, but mounts a powerful 399cm³ Parallel Twin engine in the lightweight 250cc class chassis to offer significantly increased sports performance. Futuristic Ninja supersport styling inspired by the Ninja H2 and Ninja ZX-10R/10RR, and superb fit and finish throughout result in a high-quality package. Twin LED headlamps and a sophisticated instrument panel that includes a multi-function LCD screen are some of the quality equipment that adds to its appeal. Reborn with an all-new concept, the Ninja 400 is ready to breathe fresh air into the mid-displacement road sports category.
