Former 500cc World Champion Kevin Schwantz gives us his take on the new AMA/DMG regime and weighs in on the Buell and Aprilia V-Twins running in the Daytona Sportbike class. Controversy ensued as some riders and pundits seemed to think that Danny Eslick winning twice at the Suzuki Superbike Challenge at Auto Club Speedway over the weekend means that the Buell 1125R is too good for the class, because it couldn’t possibly be the rider! For reference, the list of motorcycles eligible for competition in the 2009 Daytona SportBike class include the Aprilia RSV1000, BMW HP2 Sport, Buell 1125R, Ducati 848, Honda CBR600RR, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, KTM Super Duke, Suzuki GSX-R600, Triumph Daytona 675 and Yamaha YZF-R6.
