Three Elements Top Athletes Share
In this new video series, REV’IT! dissects the mind, body, and soul of three top motorcycle racers. Alonso López, Augusto Fernández, and Danilo Petrucci share their personal stories of success.
The dictionary defines an athlete as someone who is skilled or trained in exercises, sports, or games requiring physical agility, stamina, or strength. Reaching the pinnacle of a particular discipline, however, requires something more: exceptional strength of mind, excellent body control, and an unrelenting drive from deep within the soul. In this three-part video series, REV’IT! assigned three of its athletes one element in which they excel and asked how they believe that element is reflected in themselves.
Alonso López — Mind
Proving you can’t keep a good rider down, Alonso López always bounces back from adversity even more determined. A hard hitter in the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship, López adapted to the high-flying pace of the Moto3 World Championship only to be sidelined without a seat in 2021. Focusing on the CEV Moto2 European Championship, López podiumed at every race he entered to claim runner-up in the title chase, setting himself up for a glorious comeback on the world stage. Once again, however, the Spaniard started the 2022 season watching the racing from home. Stepping in as a substitute rider, López scored five podiums and two wins from the 14 Moto2 races he contested to finish eighth overall. A hard hitter, indeed.
