Danville, VA – March 2, 2011 – VIRginia International Raceway announced today that Dan Vaden will assume the title of Director of Marketing beginning March 1st, 2011. Vaden will be leaving his role as owner and president of Vaden & Associates, Inc, which is based in Danville, Virginia. “I have grown to love this track and the staff I have worked closely with for the last ten years. It has been a constant source of amazement to witness the growth and development since the track reopened. I was at the track many times during the 1960s and never imagined that it would become what is today – one of the best road racing tracks in the world,” Vaden said. “I have never felt this much excitement on the verge of a career change. It will be very fulfilling to be a part of the expanding success that is VIR.” A native of Danville, VA, Vaden spent the past twenty-two years at his graphic design firm, Vaden & Associates, Inc., where they were awarded the 2010 Small Business of the Year by the Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce. Since 2001, Vaden has been involved in developing the marketing and graphic identity of VIR – producing the organization’s advertising, programs, posters, and brochures. He has been a VIR Club Member and emissary from the very beginning. Dan currently resides in Providence, NC – only minutes away from the track. His wife, Vickie, has been an enthusiastic ambassador and promoter of VIR in any opportunity she finds herself.
