VIRginia International Raceway, located in Alton, Virginia, will remain shut down until at least April 23.

According to a statement issued by VIR President and COO Kerrigan Smith today, “With the release of the Executive Order 53 from the Governor of Virginia we are cancelling all of our regularly scheduled events up to April 23rd. Let’s hope this date serves as the light at the end of the tunnel and we may be able to carry on at that point. It is highly unlikely we will be able to reschedule any of the canceled weekend dates but we will do our best to get as creative as possible.”

VIR had already suspended operations through April 1.
