Walk The Track With AMA Pro Road Racing Stars September 3 At New Jersey Motorsports Park

AMA Pro Road Racing championship weekend shaping up to be an exciting one for both racers and fans on Sept. 2-4, 2011 at New Jersey Motorsports Park MILLVILLE, N.J. – The final challenge ahead for championship contenders in all four of AMA Pro Road Racing’s top classes is the 2.25-mile Thunderbolt Raceway at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Blake Young and Josh Hayes are separated by just five points in the AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Championship headed into the doubleheader weekend at New Jersey. Young, whose class-high six wins this season have boosted him to the top spot headed into NJMP, will look to capture his first AMA Pro championship title from Hayes, a four-time winner at New Jersey and reigning SuperBike champion. The AMA Pro Daytona SportBike and Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport East Division classes will also compete in doubleheader features on Sept. 3 and 4, while the Vance & Hines XR1200 series will decide its championship on Sept. 4. All four champions will be determined following the races at NJMP and the four champions will be crowned the following night at the 2011 AMA Pro championship banquet in Atlantic City. For bike fans, the AMA Pro championship weekend will be one huge party to wrap up the 2011 season. Hell On Wheels and Tony’s Stunts featuring Tony Carbajal return to NJMP with three free stunt shows on both Saturday and Sunday of race weekend. Fan Walks and autograph sessions with the AMA Pro riders are scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday and give fans the perfect opportunity to walk on the grid and meet the riders. Fans will also have numerous opportunities to win cool AMA Pro-themed items, including autographed merchandise, ticket upgrades, exclusive “2-up” rides and more, by texting “AMAPro” to 90210 on their mobile devices. On Saturday, Sept. 3, fans will also have the opportunity to walk the entire Thunderbolt Raceway circuit with select AMA Pro riders as they discuss the racing lines, trouble spots and key passing zones of the course. NJMP will also host the third annual AMA Pro weekend Clubhouse barbeque from 6-11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3 featuring live music with “Fame and Fortune,” a beer pong tournament, drink specials, an umbrella girl contest and a bikini model competition with guest judges and cash prizes.
