WASHINGTON MOTORCYCLIST WINS VINTAGE HONDA CL-72 IN CYCLE WORLD/RIDE FOR KIDS® DRAWING

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride for Kids® program, in conjunction with Cycle World magazine, is pleased to announce the winner of the 2006 Cycle World Ride for Kids® motorcycle drawing. Scott Bowen of Lake Forest Park, Wash., is the winner of this year’s prize, a beautifully restored 1963 Honda CL-72.

“It’s a beautiful bike,” said a delighted Bowen when he got the news. “I might just put it in my living room to admire for now.”

Bowen’s name was selected from more than 5,000 entries received at the Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows held between November 2005 and March 2006. This year’s drawing raised more than $24,800 to support the PBTF’s medical research and family support programs.

“We’re deeply indebted to the ongoing support of the motorcycle industry,” said Mike Traynor, PBTF president and founder of the Ride for Kids® program. “Thanks to organizations like Cycle World, and to the support of thousands of motorcyclists across America, our mission to cure the kids is becoming a reality.”

Since 1984, the national Ride for Kids® program and PBTF have promoted childhood brain tumor research and provided family support through free literature about brain tumors, educational newsletters, online conferences and college scholarships. With the help of America’s motorcyclists and motorcycle dealers, PBTF has become the world’s largest nongovernmental source of funding for pediatric brain tumor research.

The next Ride for Kids® events are Sunday, May 7 in Los Angeles, Calif., and Cary, N.C. For more information about the Ride for Kids® and the PBTF, go to www.rideforkids.org or call (800) 253-6530.
