Jonas FOLGER, Germany (APRILIA), 1:49.438 More, from a press release issued by Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing Team: MAVERICK VIÑALES IS STARTING FROM THE THIRD ROW TOMORROW FOR THE FINAL RACE OF THE SEASON. JOSEP RODRÍGUEZ QUALIFIED IN SIXTEENTH POSITION AND IS LIKELY TO EARN POINTS Valencia, 5 October 2011. In a qualifying session during which the weather played a major part, the Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing Team managed to qualify in positions which look quite promising for tomorrow’s race. It had rained just before the qualifying practice began which made the track so awkward that the riders made a very cautious start. Once he solved the setting-up issues that he went through during the free training practice Maverick Viñales remained careful over the first few laps during which he opted to improve the performance of his propellant. Around the end of the qualifying practice when the track was drying off Mack managed to score better times and qualify in eighth position which will enable him to start from the third row tomorrow with probably a good result in the offing. Josep Rodríguez also gave a good performance as he managed to be in the top ten at various moments of this complicated qualifying practice and eventually qualified in sixteenth position when the track was drying off. 25 MAVERICK VIÑALES (8º 1.48.756 +2.858): ” Once again it was a very complicated qualifying practice because of the rain and the state of the track. The bike has worked fine since the very beginning and I have been feeling really at ease with it. As the state of the track improved we started to speed up until the end of the session. At the end of the day I think we made a good job on the bike and if we had had the opportunity to ride one extra lap I am sure that we’d have improved our qualifying position. The first ones to ride opted for dry conditions tyres but we didn’t. Tomorrow’s the race, the bike is working fine and we’re at home: we have to do a good job.” 28 JOSEP RODRÍGUEZ (16º 1.50.178 +4.280): “On the one hand I am glad because the bike has been working fine since the beginning of the qualifying practice and on the other hand I am a little angry because I could have qualified in a much better position. I went out to the track a little bit late and if I could have ridden an extra lap I think I could have qualified in the top ten. Anyway I am feeling really confident because I think we have been competitive when the track was in awkward conditions. I just hope I’ll do a good job tomorrow.”
