47TH ACTION PACKED WERA GRAND NATIONAL FINALS /WERA/N2 ENDURANCE ROUND AND THE AMA ROAD RACE GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP!
On October 24th the 47th WERA Grand National Finals begins with the final round of the 2019 WERA/N2 4 Hour Endurance in the afternoon with WERA Practice in the morning. The Endurance Series has been contested by some of the best Endurance Teams this season and they are looking for that final win. The WERA/N2 Endurance will start at 1pm on Thursday. “Working with N2 this season has been great. Both N2 and WERA have a passion for Endurance Racing and this partnership made it possible for both of us and gave the Teams a well rounded Endurance Season,” said CEO of WERA Evelyne Clarke.
October 25th through the 27th will see four Series crown their 2019 Champions. The WERA Sportsman Series carries a criteria that participants must have entered one Sportsman Event in the Class they want to run and at the GNF it will be winner take all – so be ready to see some hungry riders go after that win for the coveted Championship.
Also on tap will be the 2019 WERA Vintage Series Championships. WERA throughout its history has had Vintage Racing on the schedule and our Vintage Riders are an important part of the dynamics of WERA Motorcycle Roadracing’s history.
The Pirelli/WERA National Challenge Series featuring the Michelin/WERA Superbike Class is a Series won by points – much like the Pro Series. Participation in this Series takes commitment to travel and to follow the Series in hopes of getting the National #1 Plate in your class. At the GNF if you have a WERA Motorcycle Roadracing License you can participate in any of the National Classes for the weekend.
The AMA Road Race Grand Championships will also be crowned at the GNF. AMA has been a partner with WERA Motorcycle Roadracing over many years and each WERA event carries an AMA Co-Sanction which gives WERA riders the ability to gain the points they need to run in the MotoAmerica Pro Series. There are 13 Classes at the GNF which make up the AMA Road Race Grand Championships. AMA will also award their prestigious Horizon Award which goes to a rider displaying talent, sportsmanship and a great attitude to make a name for themselves in this great sport of motorcycle road racing. See if you can pick eligible candidates for this award. Anyone with a valid/current motorcycle road racing license with any sanctioning body recognized by the AMA can participate in these classes.
