WERA AT NELSON LEDGES WITH N2 8/29-30 – SECONDS BETWEEN RIDERS – LAP RECORDS DROPPING – GOOD RACING AND COMPETITION!
The weekend started wet on Friday but Saturday saw clearing skies and drier times for the Teams participating in the N2/WERA Endurance races. Ultralightweight saw #77 Chasing Shade Racing with Lance Molnar doing the riding take the win 2nd going to Heather Trees on the #124 Sizzle Maniac Racing and #41 Team Yo! taking third with Keith Buras doing the riding. The Big Bike Race had the best racing in the last 40 minutes of racing with #911 Twisted Speed Racing (Taylor Knapp/Brad Burns) taking the win over AOD (Ben Walters/Chris Peris) on the same lap with 8.971 gap. 3rd went to 412 NCOG (Rick Lind/Tim Wilson/Jeff Wroebble). Class winners were Twisted Speed Racing in Heavyweight; #412 NCOG in Mediumweight and #624 Team Meat (David Belsterling/Simon Buric) in Lightweight.
Sunday saw perfect weather and a dry track for some of the best racing! All the Sprint results are on the WERA web site but we want to give you the highlights from the day! Formula 1 saw #37 Stefano Mesa show the Experts how to do it taking the win with #16 Vasilly Zhulin in 2nd and #318 Ricky O’Hare in 3rd. #524 Ron Jenkins took the Novice win. The 600cc/C Superbike race saw a close race again with #1 John Hawkins taking the win by 2.194 over #521 Gary Yancoskie followed by #20 CJ LaRoche only 5.345 behind. #460 Cory Lang took the Novice win. #125 Delaney Richie took the 400cc/E SS win over #234 Matt DiLorenzo by 0.452 with #8 Matt Reed in 3rd, #172 Alessandro DiMario took the Novice win. The Michelin/WERA Superbike/ASB Class saw Mesa take another win over Zhulin with O’Hare in third. #925 Craig Frantz took first in the Novice Class. In the Open Superstock Class Mesa not only took the win but took the Overall Lap Record at Nelson Ledges previously set by #44 Taylor Knapp (1.05.973) putting down a 1:04.192 with Zhulin in 2nd and O’Hare in 3rd. Mesa showed back up for the 600cc/C SSS Class and took the win over Hawkins by 0.761 with Yancoskie taking 3rd only 0.971 behind the leader,. Lang repeated his Novice win in the 600cc/CSS Class. Belsterling had a good weekend taking wins in the F2 Expert and Heavyweight Twins Expert. #86 Phillip Hart coming back to racing after a hiatus showed he had not lost a step – taking the wins in V8 MW and 750cc/BSS Novice .
