WERA National Series Heads To Talladega Gran Prix Raceway This Weekend

From a press release issued by WERA: Round #2 WERA National Challenge Series Round #2 takes the Bridgestone/WERA National Endurance Series to Talladega Gran Prix Raceway in Talladega, Alabama over the April 4/5/6 weekend. Vesrah Suzuki will look to continue its winning ways with rider, Tray Batey back on board after a practice crash had him sitting out Round #1. Brand X and Team Maxxis will be back to challenge for the coveted First Overall and First Heavyweight Superbike position. The Heavyweight Superstock Class will see TVR 131 going up against competitors trying to break their hold on that First Heavyweight Superstock Class title they are protecting. Mediumweight Superbike will see Wikle Racing and Zyvax going head to head again with Ed Bargy Racing School’s Team challenging as well. In Mediumweight Superstock the combined efforts of Dalke and Team Westby (2007 MSS Champs) seem like they are undefeatable. Lightweight Superbike will see Ghetto Customs defend their title with Ricochet Redux and Blue Ridge Performance mounting a challenge on the made for the class Talladega Gran Prix Raceway. The Michelin/WERA National Challenge will take the track on Sunday, April 6th and again should see riders going for that podium. Dane Westby has come on strong for 2008 and he challenges Robert Jenson, John Jacobi, the Sassaman brothers, the Wikle brothers, Lee Acree, along with the locals like Tim Vosnick, Tim Hunt, Steve Brunton, Kris Wall, Gill Cutchen, Chad Clifton all ready to take them on. Then there are the Novices who have something to prove in 2008, Chad Hunt, Stamler Monk, Ethan Ellis, Chris Brinkley, Jimmy Merck, Justin Lauter and Josh Stidham all looking to make their mark and be noticed as the stars of the future. Action starts at noon each day. Talladega is located on Alabama Hwy 21 off of Interstate 20 between Anniston and Talladega, Alabama. Round #3 finds the WERA National Series at Jennings Gran Prix Raceway in Jennings, FL over the May 16/17/18 weekend. Check out WERA on the web for further information.
