Racer Chris Spencer, 51, of Ooltewah, Tennessee died Friday from injuries suffered in a multi-bike pile-up in Turn Six during the annual WERA Grand National Finals at Road Atlanta. Spencer was riding a Kawasaki Ninja 250R in the WERA Sportsman Series E Superstock Expert class in a combined D Superbike, E Superstock and Senior Middleweight Superbike race. Chris Spencer’s 18-year-old son Jamie was also in the race. The pair had recently teamed up to win a 4-hour Ninja 250R race at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway.
