WERA Responds To Comments Made By AMA Racing’s Cohn Regarding Road Race Grand Championships

In Response: WERA Motorcycle Roadracing is sorry that AMA Racing Senior Director Bryan Cohn feels the need to attempt to insult WERA Motorcycle Roadracing in public because of the low turn-out at this year’s AMA RRGC. WERA’s intent was never to “draw a line in the sand”, however WERA could not in good faith attach our name to an event where it was made clear WERA representatives were not necessary, while WERA trusts many of the AMA Officials, we still have a responsibility to our riders if our name is attached to an event. As far as the expense concern, WERA is not in a position to help organize events for no compensation. The attempted insult to WERA Motorcycle Roadracing not withstanding, we hope that we can continue to further the relationship we have worked all these years to build with the American Motorcyclist Association for the good of our sport.
