TIMED QUALIFYING ADDED AT WERA NATIONAL CHALLENGE SERIES EVENTS WERA is pleased to announce that timed qualifying will be used to determine grid positions for selected classes during the 2006 WERA National Challenge Series events. Utilizing their existing AMB electronic timing and scoring system, WERA officials will have qualifying sessions for the 600 Superstock Expert, 750 Superstock Expert, Open Superstock Expert and Formula 1 Expert classes on Friday afternoon during the three-day National Series events. “There are several benefits to providing timed qualifying for these mainstream classes,” said Evelyne Clarke, president of WERA. “It will be a good show for our spectators on Friday afternoon, it will give local riders an equal chance at grid positions as the WERA series travel around the country and it will give competitors experience with qualifying should they decide to participate at an AMA Pro race.” Each of the ten rounds of the WERA National Series features a dedicated day of practice, usually Friday, with the National Endurance Series event on Saturday and the National Challenge Series races on Sunday. Schedule, rules, purse and contingency information is available by visiting www.wera.com or calling 770-720-5010.
