WERA Motorcycle Roadracing has tentatively scheduled a WERA West Regional for the June 16-17 weekend at Willow Springs International Raceway.
According to WERA President Evelyne Clarke, she’s waiting for Willow Springs General Manager Chris Huth to send her a list of track rental charges, ambulance fees and other costs before deciding whether or not to finalize the event.
“We’re penciled in for those dates,” Clarke told Roadracing World. “But we can’t finalize a deal until we know exactly what it will cost us.”
Clarke talked to Roadracing World via cell phone from her home in Georgia, where she is recovering from emergency surgery on a detached retina. The surgery took place Thursday evening and doctors have told Clarke she can return to work in about a week with a complete recovery period of about six weeks if all goes well.
Clarke had planned to fly to Nevada to run this weekend’s WERA West Regional on the Classic Course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway but had to cancel her trip after the eye condition was diagnosed yesterday. WERA Operations Manager Sean Clarke is en route to the event now, Evelyne Clarke said.
