WERA/N2 Endurance: Chiefs Racing Team Wins Lightweight Class In Four-Hour Event At PittRace

After an exciting battle, Chiefs Racing Team (CRT) managed to pull off the Lightweight win during the WERA/N2 4 hour Endurance June 15th at Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PIRC.) Rider Kevin Boda started the race for CRT on the team’s Suzuki SV650, riding consistent laps with little drama that got CRT into 6th place. At the 1st pit stop, Brian Mullins took the reins and looking to improve the team’s position, immediately dropped lap times. His efforts paid off, getting CRT into 2nd place. Dave Stauffer then took over and 45 minutes into his stint, the race got interesting. The team in the lead was cutting some blistering lap times all day and had a substantial lead. They had bike problems resulting in the need to pit and CRT took the Lightweight class lead. Some quick math was done and it was determined that it might be close but they should be able to hold off the now 2nd place team. In the end, CRT took the win by 4 seconds. An extremely close finish; strategy and a little luck resulted in a great win and CRT taking over the points lead in their quest to defend the WERA/N2 Lightweight Endurance Championship. CRT would like to thank our sponsors: Renthal, Chicken Hawk Racing, and Zero Gravity for their great support, WERA and N2 for hosting a great event along with everyone that helped the team at PIRC. CRT looks forward to the next WERA/N2 4 hour Endurance at Nelson Ledges Road Course in August!
