Yamalube/Westby Racing’s Dane Westby To Drive The Official Pace Car For 74th Daytona 200

Daytona Beach, FL – March 13, 2015 – After pedaling his bicycle from his home in Tulsa, OK, to Daytona International Speedway, Yamalube/Westby Racing’s Dane Westby will swap bicycle pedals for a gas pedal as he drives the Official Pace Car for the 74th running of the Daytona 200 motorcycle race.

Almost as soon as Dane arrived at the track on his bicycle, he was asked by American SportBike Racing Association (ASRA) officials–the operational and sanctioning body for the 2015 Daytona 200–if he would drive the Official Pace Car for this year’s Daytona 200. Naturally, Dane was more than willing to help.

“I’ve raced in five Daytona 200s and done my share of running at the front,” said Dane. “But, this is the first time I’ll be in a car. It’s a special honor, and I’m really thankful that the good folks at the ASRA asked me to drive the Daytona 200 Official Pace Car. Since I won’t be competing in this year’s race, this is a unique opportunity for me to participate in the event.”

Yamalube/Westby Racing will compete in the 2015 MotoAmerica Series beginning at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, TX, on April 10, 11, and 12. Dane Westby will race his #00 Yamaha YZF-R1 in Superstock 1000 and with additional sponsorship by Broaster Chicken.
