In response to questions from readers, Roadracingworld.com asked AMA Road Race Director Keith Kizer what happened to the big screens at Barber Motorsports Park last weekend. “There was a problem with Venix Media in getting the sponsorship needed to justify bringing the big screens out to Barber,” said Kizer, speaking from the paddock at California Speedway in Fontana, California, site of this weekend’s AMA Superbike National. “But things have been worked out for this weekend so there will be at least one Jumbotron here at Fontana and we hope that things will be worked out from here on out for the tracks that want the screens; there are some tracks that don’t want them due to conflicts in sponsorship. “It is important that people know that this is an agreement that allowed a company to put together the Jumbotron program. This has nothing to do with us. This is nothing we are paying for. This is nothing we are making any income off of. “The problem at Barber was them selling enough sponsorship packages to justify bringing it down. “We hope they have everything worked out now,” Kizer concluded.
