Former racer Steve McLaughlin, the man behind the original AMA Superbike class as well as the World Superbike Series, was in England last week meeting with Norton owner Stuart Garner. McLaughlin, who has done consulting work on various NASCAR, Grand-AM and Daytona Motorsports Group projects, was involved in developing the multi-brand, multi-engine-design, varied-displacement formula now used in the AMA Daytona Sportbike class. The question is, will Norton be the next brand to join Daytona Sportbike in the U.S.? Stay tuned.
