Wood Wins Fastest AMA Pro Thunder Heat Race And Takes Pole At Loudon

Local hero Eric Wood won the fastest of two AMA Pro Thunder qualifying heat races at Loudon on a Keystone Learning Systems Ducati, holding off Tilley Buell’s David Estok by 0.463-second. Wood’s average speed was 76.380 mph with an average lap time of 1:15.412, vs. Estok’s 76.156 mph and 1:15.534. The time of the 5-lap race was 6 minutes, 19.262 seconds.

Tilley Buell’s Tripp Nobles won the other heat race by 0.713-second over Munroe Motors’ Tom Montano on a Ducati. Nobles’ average speed was 74.896 mph with an average lap time of 1:16.907 vs. Montano’s 74.661 mph and 1:17.149. The time of the 5-lap race was 6:26.303.
