Andrew Lee to Race Suzuka 8 Hour
Andrew Lee, who currently sits 2nd place in the Moto America Stock 1000 championship on his Riderz Law Kawasaki ZX-10, will ride for the “Flash Army Girl team MF and Kawasaki” racing team at this year’s Suzuka 8 Hour. Lee will join World Supersort rider Hikari Okubo and Japan ST600 rider Kyosuke Okuda with the goal of taking victory in the EWC SST division.
Lee’s crew chief Derek Keyes, who raced Suzuka from 2011 to 2013, has been instrumental in putting this deal together. “I made some good friends at Kawasaki Japan while I was racing Suzuka a few years ago. We’ve stayed in touch throughout the years and ever since I started working with Andrew I knew he could be a good fit for one of the independent 8 hour teams. Once he started testing the ZX-10 over the winter and his speed was immediately apparent I started sending e-mails to my friends over in Japan to see if we could work out something to get him on an 8 hour team. I’m very thankful to all the key people that have helped to make this deal happen and that have given Andrew a chance to show what he can do.”

The first opportunity for Lee to test with the team and turn his first laps around the historic Suzuka circuit will come in June, directly after the next Moto America round in Wisconsin. Andrew will get one more opportunity to test with the team before the July 29th race.
