Team Rabid Transit Will Race The 40th Anniversary Suzuka 8-hour Endurance World Championship Round With Sheridan Morais, Bjorn Estment, and Brandon Cretu
Team Rabid Transit will make their debut at the Suzuka 8-hour FIM Endurance World Championship race this month which also happens to be the 40th Anniversary of the prestigious event. Sheridan Morais, Bjorn Estment, and Brandon Cretu, rode together for Team Rabid Transit at the Oschersleben 8-hour round of the FIM EWC where they finished a respectable 10th place in class and 18th overall in spite of two extended pit stops to fix mechanical issues.
Team Rabid Transit entered the FIM Endurance World Championship full time for the 2017 season after getting a taste at the final round of the 2016 season at Oschersleben where Brandon Cretu and Ivan Silva finished a highly credible 8th in class and 14th overall. They are supported by Yamaha Austria Racing Team (YART) and Bridgestone.
While at Suzuka the team will also be showcasing some of the latest in live biometric technology through their partners Transitive Technology, Dell, Intel, Bodycap, and Zephyr. Stay tuned for updates from the event to see what the team is up to and a glimpse into the future of athlete performance within motorsport.
Sheridan Morais commented:
“Very excited to be going back to this special circuit and country. Having been to Suzuka once before, I know the track but unfortunately never completed a single race lap due to technical issues. This time round will be great though and looking forward to being there with Team Rabid Transit.”
Bjorn Estment commented:
“Firsty, a massive thanks to Team Rabid Transit for the opportunity of a lifetime to compete at the iconic 2017 Suzuka 8-hour. This is a dream come true for any rider. I can’t wait to get to Japan and back on the beautiful Yamaha R1 that I gelled really well with at Oschersleben. I’m absolutely ecstatic! Also, extended thanks to Everquip Racing and Total Building Services for allowing me to take part in the event outside of my BSB commitments. Thanks to Pro Air Conditioning, Kickstart Motorcycles, Linxcel, Nvest Securities, and NFB Financial Services for their support as well. See you soon Japan!”
Brandon Cretu commented:
“Racing in the FIM EWC this year has been an amazing experience and it has helped my riding immensely. Competing at Suzuka with my team is easily one of the highlights of my racing career. Right along with the 24-hours of Le Mans, Isle of Man TT, and Macau GP, the Suzuka 8-hour is truly one of the world’s best and most prestigious motorcycling events. I am honored to have the opportunity race there and hope I can do everyone around the world that supports me proud. Massive thanks to Team Rabid Transit for everything and YART for all of their help.”
