The FIM Superbike World Championship may race at both Miller Motorsports Park and Barber Motorsports Park in 2008. Officials at Miller Motorsports Park, located near Salt Lake City, Utah, are expected to make an announcement soon that their track will host a World Championship Superbike event on June 1, 2008. Officials representing Barber Motorsports Park, located in Birmingham, Alabama, have told Roadracingworld.com they anticipate making a decision early next week whether or not to host a World Superbike race April 20, 2008. Both deals are expected to include only the World Superbike class running with selected AMA Superbike series classes (probably two) instead of the Supersport World Championship. The Superbike World Championship last visited America in 2004 and raced at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
