Mazda Raceway to Host Superbike World Championship Fan Party at Taverna Aventine in downtown San Francisco
MONTEREY, Calif., July 9, 2015 — Fans of international motorcycle road racing will get to meet some of the biggest names in the sport when Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca hosts the Superbike World Championship Fan Party at Taverna Aventine in downtown San Francisco on July 15.
The Fan Party, from 3:00-6:00 p.m., will be held in conjunction with a press conference at Taverna Aventine earlier in the day as part of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship GEICO Motorcycle U.S. Round, July 17-19 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The event is the ninth round and the only North American stop on the 13-event 2015 Superbike World Championship schedule.
Superbike World Championship riders scheduled to attend include Chaz Davies (No. 7 Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team) and Team Pedercini Kawasaki teammates Christophe Ponsson (No. 23) and David Salom (No. 44).
“The Superbike World Championship is one of the showcase events on the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca schedule,” said Gill Campbell, CEO and General Manager of the raceway near Monterey. “These riders and teams travel the world so hosting a party for them in an amazing international city like San Francisco made all the sense in the world.”
Some of the fan activities will include riding the Tissot simulator for a chance to win a Tissot T-Race watch and race tickets, as well as the chance to meet the Tissot Grid Girls and the Miss Mazda Raceway Girls. Taverna Aventine will also have food and drink specials throughout the three-hour event.
