Barni Racing Team ready for the new WorldSBK season in Australia

A two-day testing before the 2020 first round in Phillip Island. Race 1 on Saturday 29th February and race 2 on Sunday 1st March. 

Phillip Island (AUS), 21st February 2020. This week Barni Racing Team gets to fire up his Ducati Panigale V4 R engines again, signalling the start of the 2020 MOTUL FIM WorldSBK Championship season at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. Ahead of the first round, on stage from 28th to 1st March, the beautiful circuit overlooking Cunningham Bay, off the coast of Victoria in Australia,  will host two days of testing on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th February.

The two-day test will be very important for the team and Leon Camier, who missed almost all winter tests due to the injury to the left shoulder suffered in Aragon on November 27th and the subsequent surgery on December 24th. For the British rider, the team has prepared a tight schedule with the aim of making up for lost time and fine-tuning the Ducati Panigale V4 R according to the rider’s instructions. Despite a tough work Camier has not yet recovered 100% from his injury, because of that  the two-day test will be useful to test rider’s physical condition.

“After everything that happened in winter I can’t wait for the test on Monday. Even though He have only done a few kilometres with our Ducati, I have great faith in Leon. There is no doubt that we will start the season at a disadvantage, but I’m confident that we can recover quickly. Given the physical condition of the rider, especially in this first race, we have to be careful.”

Leon Camier:

“I’m really excited and I can’t wait to begin this new adventure . Unfortunately I’m not fit at 100% and I’m aware that this week will be a big challenge. After the surgery I worked harder than ever to approach this round, but I still have lack of strength on my shoulder. Besides, I spent no time on the bike. During the whole week I have to be concentrated to best manage my physical condition trying to be confident with the bike and make some gain.”
