Almost 100 laps for Melandri in his first day with Ducati Panigale V4 R

Cremona (CR), 17 July 2020. A whole winter work in only one day. The Barni Racing Team faced the first time on track with Marco Melandri condensing multiple sessions of testing into a few hours. The rider from Ravenna chose the team from Bergamo for a shocking return to Superbike. Although the test at the Cremona circuit was not behind closed doors and Melandri only had the track at his full disposal for two hours, the rider put together even 100 laps establishing a good feeling with the team, which together the #33 was immersed in a very busy day. From the saddle position, to the electronics, all the areas of the bike were analyzed and adapted.

Marco Melandri:

“I’m very pleased with this day. I haven’t ridden a Superbike since October, but with the Ducati Panigale V4 R I felt immediately at ease and also a good feeling with the team was established. It was a really good feeling. At the beginning I had to get familiar with the bike, we tried the position on the saddle and then we tried to take the right direction for the set-up. The Panigale V4 R has an incredible engine and I know I will have to work hard to adapt and make the best with such a high potential, but the team has already shown that they can give me everything I need. Together I hope we can have fun and get some satisfaction out.”

Marco Barnabo, Team Principal:

“Working with a great rider is easy because he’s able to transfer sensations and to point you in the right direction in a very short time. That’s exactly what happened with Marco. It’s clear that if we have had few more days there would have been a lot more testing to do, but I’m still very happy. We have clear ideas for Jerez and Marco showed us that he is really in a good shape.”
