Althea Racing: with Ducati, a world return

After two years of hiatus, the Althea Racing brand returns to the world championship and chooses Supersport, a revisited category, enriched with innovative technical ideas and important regulatory changes that make it one of the most interesting track racing classes.

In 2022 Althea returns with Ducati, a successful combo thanks to Carlos Checa and Davide Giugliano. To complete an all-Italian line up, Althea welcomes Federico Caricasulo, policeman and athlete of the Fiamme Oro, one of the most accredited riders in the championship .

Federico will make contact with the Panigale V2 in the next January tests.

Federico Caricasulo, Rider

“I am really happy with the opportunity that Genesio is offering me. It was an unexpected proposal that I accepted immediately because it is a winning project with a team that certainly needs no introduction and that I also followed as a fan.

I like the idea of being the only rider on the team and I think it’s the best situation to aim for certain results. After five years with Yamaha in which I believe I have grown a lot, it is important for me to accept a new challenge that gives me the best motivation. I still have an unfinished business with this category since 2019 and my only goal is to improve the results I have already achieved.”

Genesio Bevilacqua, General Manager

“Althea did not need to return but I chose to do so because I believe that this Supersport is the category of the future. There are all the prerequisites for what has always been our only aspiration: to win by using our experience and our skills by playing with the best. This Supersport and its new regulations are truly an opportunity to relaunch ths tock bikes racing. It seems made to test us.

Competition is in our DNA and that’s why we want to be there.”
