CIA Landlord Insurance Honda are delighted to welcome Kyle Smith back to the team for the remainder of the 2018 World Supersport Championship starting with the Acerbis Czech Round at Brno next week.

Spain based Yorkshireman Smith previously rode for CIA Landlord Insurance Honda in 2016 claiming victories at Assen and Qatar and finishing 5th overall in the Championship standings.

Smith said: “I’m really happy to be reunited with the CIA Landlord Insurance Honda Team who I’ve enjoyed success with in the past. It’s been a difficult season so far and I am hoping I can now be racing with the front runners again. The CIA Landlord Insurance Honda is a competitive package and I feel I have the ability to get the best out of it. Thanks to Simon Buckmaster and CIA Landlord Insurance Honda for giving me this opportunity.”

CIA Landlord Insurance Honda Team Manager Simon Buckmaster said: “We are really pleased to announce the return of Kyle for the rest of the season. Kyle has had two difficult seasons with Lorini and of course with the unexpected departure of Niki Tuuli it’s given us this opportunity. We are really excited to work with Kyle again, he is a good guy and good to work with. He’ll be back with his old crew chief Stu Millen and the whole team are really looking forward to working with him. We are confident we will see some positive results from Kyle in the remaining races putting us back in the position we need to be, fighting for the top six and fighting for the podium. It is a really hard tight field this year but we’ve got the bike, the rider and the team so let’s go out there and see what we can do.”
