WorldSBK: Bautista Sets New Lap Record, Takes Pole Position At Misano

Defending Champion Alvaro Bautista broke the All-Time Lap Record and took pole position during World Superbike Superpole qualifying Saturday at Misano World Circuit – Marco Simoncelli, in Rimini, San Marino.

Bautista, riding his Aruba.it Racing Ducati Panigale V4 R with Pirelli’s new SCQ tire, turned a 1:33.017, which eclipsed the previous All-Time Lap Record of 1:33.328 he set in 2022. Then, Bautista crashed on the very next lap, but he was able to pick his Ducati up and ride away.

Toprak Razgatlioglu was second with a 1:33.182 on his Pata Yamaha Prometeon YZF-R1, and Bautista’s teammate Michael Rinaldi earned the third and final spot on the front row with a 1:33.266.

American Garrett Gerloff qualified 14th with a time of 1:34.268 on his Bonovo Action BMW M 1000 RR.
