Toprak Razgatlioglu claimed pole position during World Superbike Superpole qualifying Saturday at Misano World Circuit – Marco Simoncelli, in San Marino. Riding his ROKiT BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR on Pirelli control tires, the Turkish star navigated the 2.6-mile (4.2 km) road course in 1:32.320. Not only was that fast enough to top the field of 24 riders, it also broke Alvaro Bautista’s All-Time Lap Record of 1:33.017.
Rookie sensation Nicolo Bulega was the best of the rest with a 1:32.556 on his Aruba.it Racing Ducati Panigale V4 R.
Australian Remy Gardner took the third and final spot on the front row with a lap of 1:32.906 on his GYTR GRT Yamaha YZF-R1.
Riders qualifying on row two include Kawasaki Racing Team’s Alex Lowes (1:33.075), Bulega’s teammate Alvaro Bautista (1:33.111), and Pata Prometeon Yamaha’s Andrea Locatelli (1:33.129).
American Garrett Gerloff qualified 13th with a 1:33.634 on his Bonovo Action BMW.
