WorldSBK: Rea Eclipses Lap Record, Earns Pole Position At Donington Park

Jonathan Rea cracked the All-Time Lap Record and earned pole position during World Superbike Superpole qualifying Saturday at Donington Park, in England.

Riding his Kawasaki Racing Team Ninja ZX-10RR, the six-time World Champion lapped the 2.5-mile (4.0 km) circuit in 1:26.041, which eclipsed his own record of 1:26.080 from 2022.

Defending World Champion Alvaro Bautista was second-best with a 1:26.109 on his Aruba.it Racing Ducati Panigale V4 R.

Danilo Petrucci claimed the third and final spot on the front row with a 1:26.206 on his Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati Panigale V4 R.

American Garrett Gerloff was 10th-fastest in qualifying with a 1:26.648 on his Bonovo Action BMW M 1000 RR.

The top 12 qualifiers were separated by just 0.701 second.
