Jonathan Rea topped World Superbike Superpole qualifying Saturday at MotorLand Aragon, in Spain. Riding his factory Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR, the Northern Irishman covered the 3.1-mile (5.0 km) road course in 1:47.973, which not only topped the field of 25 riders it also smashed the old All-Time Lap Record of 1:48.267, which was set by Toprak Razgatlioglu in 2022.
Alvaro Bautista qualified second with a 1:48.324 on his Aruba.it Racing Ducati Panigale V4 R, and Pata Yamaha Prometeon’s Razgatlioglu was third-quickest with a lap time of 1:48.523.
American Garrett Gerloff qualified 10th — and top BMW rider — with a 1:49.083 on his Bonovo Action M 1000 RR.
