Five Two-Day Schools to be Offered in 2013 MONTEREY, CALIF. (October 15, 2012) “” The Yamaha Champions Riding School (YCRS), based at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, will be bringing their renowned high-performance motorcycle riding training program to California’s Monterey Peninsula in 2013. YCRS will present five two-day schools at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca: January 24-25; February 25-26; March 11-12; March 28-29 and April 10-11. “The Yamaha Champions Riding School has been a huge hit throughout the motorcycle industry and it is a source of great pride for us,” said John Larson, general manager of Miller Motorsports Park. “Being able to offer the YCRS program at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will be a win-win for everyone concerned.” Students will receive personalized motorcycle riding instruction from an outstanding group of champions, led by Lead Instructor Nick Ienatsch, a two-time AMA National Champion. The team of YCRS instructors includes Ken Hill, Dale Keiffer, Shane Turpin, Mark Schellinger and Garrett Willis, as well as guest instructor Scott Russell, the former AMA Pro Superbike and World Superbike Champion nicknamed “Mr. Daytona” for his five wins in the Daytona 200. Students will utilize the school’s outstanding Yamaha YZF-R6 sportbikes. Full gear rental, including Alpinestars gloves, leather suit, back protector and boots as well as Arai helmets, is available. Ienatsch is particularly excited about bringing the YCRS to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “We leapt at the chance to hold our program at this world-class venue,” he said. “The track is eleven turns of heaven. If you think it looks great on TV, come and lap it on one of our Dunlop-shod Yamaha R6s.” “Since Yamaha is our official motorcycle sponsor, it simply made sense for us to welcome the Yamaha Champions Riding School to Mazda Raceway,” said Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “And, as the only circuit in the U.S. that hosts the world’s premier motorcycle series AMA Pro Racing, MotoGP™ and FIM World Superbike we knew enthusiasts of the sport would want to test out the track where they watch their idols race.” Following the completion of the schedule of schools slated for Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the YCRS will return to its home at Miller Motorsports Park, where it has eight two-day schools and two three-day schools scheduled between May and October, 2013.
