Yamaha Champions Riding School to Hold Seminars at Select Progressive International Motorcycle Shows

Taking the show on the road

TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (October 30, 2012) “” The Yamaha Champions Riding School (YCRS), based at Miller Motorsports Park, will be conducting seminars at a number of Progressive International Motorcycle Shows in the coming months.

YCRS Lead Instructor Nick Ienatsch will be joined by his colleague Ken Hill as well as World Superbike and AMA Superbike champion Scott “Mr. Daytona” Russell at six shows between November and February to share their insights on how to help riders improve their skills, no matter what or where they ride.

“The instructors at the Yamaha Champions Riding School have a single goal,” said Ienatsch. “We teach riders of all levels techniques that work as the pace comes up or the grip goes down. There’s so much misinformation in this sport, theories that just don’t work and advice that is literally the opposite of what the best riders in the world do.

“We’re on a crusade to get America riding better, whether it’s commuting on a cruiser, canyon carving on an adventure bike or track days on a sport bike. The bikes and tires are improving, yet riding instruction continues to lag way behind. There are reasons good riders are good, and these seminars will get all attendees thinking about their sport in a different way; a Champion’s way. Please come and see us, because we can control our sport by controlling our motorcycles.”

“When looking for presenters for The Podium stage at the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows, we looked to the top names in the industry,” said Progressive International Motorcycle Shows Brand Director Tigra Tsujikawa. “Lead instructors from the Yamaha Champions Riding School, Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill, are incredibly experienced riding coaches who are at the top of their game. Throw a World Champion in the mix like Scott Russell and it creates an extremely exciting and educational seminar for everyone.”

“We are extremely proud to be title sponsor of the Yamaha Champions Riding School,” said David Docktor, Yamaha Motorcycle Marketing Manager. “YCRS and Yamaha share a common goal to actively support safe, fun motorcycling and the upcoming seminars are a great way to make this happen. Our thanks to Nick, Ken and Scott, who deliver riding instruction that’s unforgettable.”

The Yamaha Champions Riding School instructors will appear at Progressive International Motorcycle Shows at Atlanta, Ga., November 2-4; Dallas, Tex., November 9-11; San Mateo, Calif., Nov. 16-18, Long Beach, Calif., December 7-9; New York, N.Y., Jan. 18-20; and Chicago, Ill., Feb. 8-10.

Nick, Ken and Scott will spend their stage time discussing “Champion’s Habits,” busting a few myths and rolling a mini-bike up and down the stage’s ramp to illustrate “100 Points of Grip” and “the Slowest Point of the Corner.” They will show you what a slow hand does to grip levels and what a sudden hand does to tire loads. They will give you plans and steps to improve your riding because they know that the better you ride, the more you will love riding. And the better you ride, the more our sport moves forward. Bring your questions, bring a notebook…get ready to see why the Yamaha Champions Riding School is changing our sport by working on the motorcycle’s most important component: You.
