Yamaha Previews bLU cRU Road Racing And Fan Activities Scheduled For Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas
Cypress, CA – April 6, 2015 – For the first time ever, the Yamaha bLU cRU road racing teams will join the stars of MotoGP at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX, as the inaugural season of the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship gets under way.
Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha: Hayes & Beaubier
Starting the season with the big #1 emblazoned on his brand-new 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike is four-time and defending AMA Superbike Champion Josh Hayes. “The Mississippi Madman” is the odds-on favorite to add a fifth Superbike title to his impressive racing resume. However, Josh faces his stiffest competition from right within his own Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha team. Cameron Beaubier, last year’s AMA Superbike Rookie of the Year, is poised to improve on his phenomenal first Superbike season. Aboard his #6 R1 Superbike, Cameron will be looking to add a Superbike title to the Daytona SportBike Championship that he won in dominant fashion when he raced the #6 YZF-R6 in 2013. Who wins the 2015 MotoAmerica Superbike title is anyone’s guess, but chances are, it’ll be one of these highly talented teammates.
And so, the battle between Josh, Cameron, and the rest of the MotoAmerica Superbike field begins. Superbike Race 1 will go green at COTA on Saturday, April 11, at 5 PM CST. Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, at 3:30 PM CST.
Yamalube/Y.E.S./Graves/Yamaha: Gerloff & Beach
The riders and crewmembers who make up Yamalube/Y.E.S./Graves/Yamaha are one of the most experienced and successful race teams in the MotoAmerica paddock. No pair of professional road racers has logged more seat time on the Yamaha R6 than teammates Garrett Gerloff and JD Beach. The team welcomes Yamalube as its title sponsor for 2015, and everyone is motivated to win races and capture the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship in its inaugural year.
Look for Garrett’s #31 and JD’s #95 identically prepared R6s competing at COTA. The Supersport Race is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, at 4:15 PM CST.
