Cypress, California, August 25, 2009 – Yamaha Factory Racing stars Josh Hayes and Ben Bostrom plus Graves Motorsports riders Josh Herrin and Tommy Aquino are scheduled to appear at the Lighthouse Café in Hermosa Beach, CA on Wednesday, August 26th from 4-7 pm to sign autographs and donate items for a silent auction to fight Rett Syndrome. Organized by Carrie Aquino [Tommy Aquino’s mother] and Amy Abernethy, the autograph signing provides a great opportunity for fans to meet their favorite Yamaha racer, get an autograph or photo and participate in a silent auction to support funding to find a cure for Rett Syndrome, a neurological disorder seen primarily in females that causes significant developmental delays affecting speech, hand skills and coordination. Rett Syndrome is the most physically disabling of the autism spectrum disorders. Primarily affecting little girls, Rett often strikes just after they have learned to walk and say a few words, and begins to drag their development backward. Currently there are no effective treatments for Rett Syndrome. Most girls survive into adulthood and require total, 24-hour-a-day care. About the Auction Items up for auction include Shoei helmets, Cortech jacket and gloves, TCX boots, autographed photos of each racer and bodywork from the race bikes. Also on display will be two race bikes from the Graves Motorsports team. Location and Date Lighthouse Café, 30 Pier Ave., Hermosa Beach, CA, Wednesday August 26th 4-7 PM For more information on Rett Syndrome please visit www.race4rettmx.com and www.rsrt.org
