Yamaha Extended Service Renews Sponsorship Of Daytona SportBike Team; Yamaha Announces Its DSB Rider Lineup For 2014 Tustin, CA – November 22, 2013 – The Marconi Automotive Museum played host to the Yamaha U.S. Road Racing Teams tonight, where the Y.E.S./Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha team announced that Yamaha Extended Service has renewed its title sponsorship agreement with Yamaha U.S. Road Racing. 2014 will mark the fourth consecutive year that Yamaha Extended Service has been the title sponsor for Yamaha’s Daytona SportBike team. Colin Haugh, who heads up the Y.E.S. program said, “We’re pleased and excited to be able to continue our winning relationship. The team and its riders have had amazing success on the track, and that success–as well as the team’s marketing and public relations efforts–have helped increase awareness of the Yamaha Extended Service brand and the many benefits that Y.E.S. coverage provides to Yamaha owners and riders throughout the U.S.” Along with the sponsorship renewal, the Y.E.S./Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha team also announced its rider lineup for 2014, which will include Garrett Gerloff and new teammate JD Beach on the two-rider Daytona SportBike team. Garrett returns to the team for the third year, and will begin his second full year of DSB competition. The rider from Spring, Texas, finished third in the DSB Championship in 2013. He had 11 top-five finishes and reached the podium five times, including a second-place finish in the Daytona 200. Garrett will be back in the saddle of his #8 Y.E.S./Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha YZF-R6 for 2014. JD will replace 2013 AMA Pro Daytona SportBike Champion Cameron Beaubier aboard the #6 Y.E.S./Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha R6. As previously announced, Cameron will join three-time AMA Pro SuperBike Champion Josh Hayes on the Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha SuperBike team. Hailing from Philpot, Kentucky, JD finished fourth in the 2013 DSB Championship while racing an R6 for RoadRace Factory/Yamaha. He won the AMA Pro SuperSport East Championship in 2010 and, in 2008, he was the first American to win the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Championship. JD is also a seasoned dirt track racer who competes in the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship when his busy schedule allows. Keith McCarty, Motorsports Racing Division Manager for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., said, “We’ve got a very strong and talented lineup of Daytona SportBike riders for 2014. Garrett has been a huge asset to our team, and his race results keep getting better and better. We’re expecting big things from him this season. JD is a very accomplished racer, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to our team. He has already been racing a Yamaha R6 for the past few years, and with excellent results, so we’re looking forward to his continued success with Yamaha.” YAMAHA U.S. ROAD RACING TEAMS CELEBRATE MULTI-CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON The Yamaha U.S. Road Racing Teams, including its riders, crewmembers, and guests, got together at the Marconi Automotive Museum tonight to celebrate their highly successful 2013 AMA Pro Road Racing season. “It was a phenomenal year for Yamaha,” McCarty commented. “We won championships in SuperBike, Daytona SportBike, and SuperSport, and we couldn’t have done it without the talent, hard work, and support of our riders, crews, and their families. It was great to be able to get everyone together, to thank them and celebrate one last time before we close the book on 2013 and look forward to the 2014 road racing season.” Among those honored, and in attendance, at the event were 2013 AMA Pro SuperBike Champion Josh Herrin and 2013 AMA Pro Daytona SportBike Champion Cameron Beaubier, along with 2013 AMA Pro SuperBike Tuner of the Year Rick Hobbs and 2013 AMA Pro Daytona SportBike Tuner of the Year Oliver Hutchinson.
