After a personal best finish at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Jay Newton of Newton Racing LLC, will forego the last round of competition for the MotoAmerica 2016 season at New Jersey. Instead, the 18-year-old Supersport 600 racer will contest in the Superbike 600 class of the Autumn Pan Delta Super Racing Festival. Newton will pilot a Yamaha R6 for the TY Yamaha Racing Team at the Zhuhai International Circuit in China. Jay made the acquaintance of the team in June while riding as an ambassador for the California Superbike School Mandarin Region at the Ordos International Circuit in China. After setting the 600cc and 1000cc track record aboard one of the team’s R6’s, Newton was invited back to participate at the festival September 16 -18.
