Tyler Scott swept the podium at Roebling Road Raceway during the Southeast and Florida Championship Cup Series twin sprints weekend featuring AMA sanctioned ASRA Sprints presented by Pirelli Tire. Scott, the youngest expert competitor, was also the winningest of the weekend, running undefeated during the two day event, and taking home a grand total of nine first place trophies. Scott finished incident-free day one of the event with four victories, often taking over the lead after a few laps of working his way through the field to that coveted front spot. Then opening a gap on the rest of the field and running away with the win.

Scott began his streak early in the weekend with his first victory in the 25 minute-long GTL race on his Honda NSF 250, after taking over the lead from seasoned racer and early leader John Linder on board his Suzuki SV 650. Scott continued his streak, next winning the Thunderbike and Moto 3 classes, ending the day with his fourth victory in the Lightweight Grand Prix class.

Scott was back out early on day two, winning the Moto 3 and Lightweight Grand Prix races before the lunch break. He came back to win both the ASRA Thunderbike and ASRA Moto 3 races, and finished the day with a final victory again in the Thunderbike class. His sponsors include Arai, Evolve GT, N2 Track Days, Rich Long Racing, and Scott Powersports.

Greg Melka was the second biggest winner of the event racking up a whopping eight victories, just missing out on tying with Scott after finishing second to Ryan Jones in the Middleweight Supersport class. Melka won four races on Saturday, finishing first in the Middleweight Superbike, Middleweight GP, Middleweight Supersport, and Heavyweight Supersport classes.

Melka claimed another four victories on Sunday with some epic battles on his pair of Yamaha YZF-R6’s. Melka started day two with his first victory in the Heavyweight Supersport class after nailing an early lead. Out front, Melka and Jones swapped positions during several laps of the ASRA SuperStock race with Melka reclaiming the advantage in the final run for the checkered flag in the 10-lap race to claim victory again. Next, Melka and Dean Smith ran neck and neck for all seven laps of the Middleweight Grand Prix race, each taking over the lead from the other until the final lap, when Melka crossed the line less than half a bike length ahead of Smith and claimed his third victory of the day. He was back out front early in his final race of the weekend, to claim his eighth victory in the Heavyweight Superbike race. Melka is sponsored by Michelin, ProFlow, Arai, EBC, and Engine Ice.

The two day, twins sprints event produced a number of multiple race winners. In the expert ranks, Mark Every finished with 5 victories, Donny Kelley won 4, including Saturday’s Unlimited Grand Prix class, and John Linder wrapped up the weekend with 5 wins. In the amateur classes, Peter Strack and Zachary Parker were the winningest competitors, each with 6 first place finishes. Andrew Gold was close behind with 5 victories, while Thomas Kindley, Michael Rouleau, and Kayla Yaakov each claimed 4 victories.

The next round for the Southeast Roadracing Championship is scheduled for September 15-16th at Virginia International Raceway along with the Mid-Atlantic region and AMA Sanctioned ASRA Team Challenge presented by Michelin Tire. The CCS Florida and Southeast regions will meet again with all other regions to compete in the CCS National Championships Sprints and ASRA Spring and Team Challenge Finals at Daytona International Speedway during the Race of Champions weekend October 19-21st.

The next round of ASRA Sprint races will be held at Blackhawk Farms Raceway September 22-23rd And, the next ASRA Team Challenge race will be held September 2nd at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
