Michael Byrne, 450 Supercross, Muscle Milk/ Toyota/ JGRMX Byrner, a three time Australian National Champion, came into this season without a ride. He started out racing the California rounds on a borrowed KX 450. When JGRMX’s Josh Grant got hurt Byrne was quickly added to their roster. Byrne has more than 10 years of experience as a professional racer and has been a solid performer for the team this season. He finished 13th at the last round in Indy and sits 12th in points. www.jgrmx.com Erick “Big E” Bartoldus, Supercross- Four Legends On February 28 (1 pm EST) a new show will air on CBS Sports featuring the most dominant riders in Supercross. The careers of Jeremy McGrath, Ricky Carmichael, Chad Reed, and James Stewart will be the main focus as the show defines the sport and how it became the greatest off-road motorcycle series of all time. It will take you behind the scenes of each rider’s career and what they endured to become legends. This one-hour show, produced by the same folks that created Motocross Files, has been much anticipated and may change every viewers opinion on their favorite or not so favorite riders. Big E has been involved in the inner circle of Supercross for years and was instrumental in the production of this program. www.motocrossfiles.com Trey Canard, Supercross West Coast Lites, GEICO Powersports Honda Last weekend at Indianapolis Trey lined up for his first ever 450 Supercross race to fill in for the injured Red Bull Honda Racing’s Andrew Short. He showed impressive speed qualifying 8th in timed practice. He had some mishaps and didn’t finish the race but proved he has the speed and skill set to run in the 450 class full time when he is finished with the 250 class. Currently the West Coast Lites class is on break and Trey has won two rounds this year and sits second in points. www.amsoil.com/supercross John Hopkins, Superbike Racer – M4 Suzuki John Hopkins is back in the U.S. and will be competing on an M4 Suzuki for the 2010 season. After testing recently at Fontana Hopkins stated that he was happy to be back with M4 and feeling healthy again. Hopkins raced with M4 earlier in his career. He won an AMA 750 Championship in 2000 and an AMA Formula Xtreme Championship in 2001. In 2007 Hopkins had his best season in MotoGP scoring a number of podiums in the series. www.johnhopkins21.com www.teamhammer.com JD Beach, AMA Supersport – Rockwall Yamaha This year JD Beach will be racing with Rockwall Yamaha on a R6 in AMA Supersport and will also ride his 2007 Honda CRF450 in the AMA Pro Singles. Coming off a pretty good year in 2009, JD is looking forward to this upcoming season. In 2009, JD was able to get on the Rockwall team mid-season and scored four top fives and three podiums, with his best finish of second. He finished second in the AMA East Coast SuperSport Championship. When he was not road racing, he was riding dirt track on his Honda 450 in the first year of the AMA Pro Singles Championship. He ran seven races getting three wins (Peoria TT, Springfield TT, and Indy Mile).
