FANS ENCOURAGED TO SHARE FAVORITE IMS MEMORIES Winning Storyteller Will Receive VIP Experience for Two to All 2015 IMS Events
INDIANAPOLIS, Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 – The Indianapolis Motor Speedway became the Racing Capital of the World from more than a century of unparalleled racing history, but it’s the remarkable one-of-a-kind stories from racing participants and fans alike that bind everyone who has experienced an event at the world’s greatest racecourse.
As anticipation builds for the 2014 IMS racing season beginning with the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis on Saturday, May 10, and the 98th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race on Sunday, May 25, IMS introduces a unique opportunity for everyone to tell their stories and share their unforgettable IMS experiences at IMS.com/WeAllHaveAStory.
We All Have A Story advertising and a social media campaign will launch this weekend, highlighting those magical moments, on and off the track, that will be remembered for generations. The campaign will showcase just a few of the countless IMS stories from visitors, racers, as well as members of the local community. Photos and videos may be used to tell each story.
Advertising efforts will promote these stories through August, further amplifying the online social campaign. These ads will remind everyone of the special way that friends, family and racing come together at IMS. The TV commercial will debut during local coverage of the Olympic Games, Friday, Feb 21, and there will be a full-page newspaper ad in the Indianapolis Star on Sunday, Feb 23.
All submissions will be entered in the IMS We All Have A Story Contest. The grand prize winner and a guest will receive a VIP experience to each of the 2015 events on the IMS racing calendar, including the Grand Prix of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis 500, the Brickyard 400 and the Red Bull Indianapolis GP. The prize package includes round-trip air transportation, lodging and ground transportation.
A judging panel will select the winner based on criteria including appropriateness to the theme, creativity, originality, authenticity and entertainment value. For more information and complete rules for the IMS We All Have A Story Contest, visit IMS.com/WeAllHaveAStory.
“No other motorsports facility in the world boasts the history and tradition of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and when out fans get together they love to share their stories of the unforgettable moments they’ve experienced here,” said C.J. O’Donnell, Chief Marketing Officer, Hulman Motorsports. “We know it won’t take long for our fans to overwhelm us with amazing stories from their personal experiences at IMS, and we’re certain that the competition to win the We All Have A Story Contest will be fierce.”
An exciting aspect about the story of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is that it’s still being written. In fact, the newest chapter is unfolding in a few short weeks with the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis.
Whether it’s cherished memories from amazing race finishes, the initial thrill and incredible roar at the start of a race, first-time visits and family traditions, or the annual reunion shared with fans sitting in the same section for many years, IMS invites everyone to share their treasured remembrances with fellow racing enthusiasts at IMS.com/WeAllHaveAStory. |
