Brainerd, Minn (September 10) – Zalusky Advanced Riding School and Track Days (ZARS) recently held its final round of the Shootout and Rider Challenge Championship Series on the Competition Course at Brainerd International Raceway on Monday, September 7.
The Shootout and Rider Challenge Series attracted several top riders, including Aaron Anderson, Martin Holte and Patrick Wagaman. The series presented by Kymco USA awarded over $600 in cash prizes to the top finishers in each of the classes.
In GP Expert 3/4, Aaron Anderson prevailed as the champion with Harry Jensen as the runner up. With his 2nd place finish, Harry Jensen was able to clinch the Championship GP3/4 Expert Title for 2015.
In a close battle in the GP Expert 1/2 class, Dave Pederson took the win with Jon Champ in 2nd and Stephen Johnson in 3rd. Champ was able to secure a strong lead in points to clinch the Championship Title for the season.
In the Novice ranks for GP 3/4 Novice, Martin Holte took another victory with runner up Joseph Mastain not far behind in 2nd. In addition to a stellar podium finish, Mastain had a huge points lead which led him to take home the Championship Title for 2015.
In an intense battle of the Suzuki SV 650’s, Doug Evans and Chris Mattson created excitement all around the track as these racers fought for the checkered flag. Ultimately Evans took the win with Mattson in 2nd and Matt Cina respectively in 3rd. With his podium finish, Mattson was crowned our GP 1/2 Novice Champion for 2015!
ZARS continues to broaden our opportunities with the Rider Challenge for experienced Track Day riders. In the GP3 class, Patrick Wagaman had another impressive ride of the season to take the win and the overall for the day with Carter Fose close in 2nd. With a sizeable points lead, Fose took home the GP3 Championship for 2015. In GP4, Greg Pecore put on another impressive ride to win the final checkered for 2015 along with the Series Championship. In the GP2, newcomers Stephen Horsfield rode strong to finish in 1st with Koen Baglien in 2nd place respectively.
ZARS has wrapped up the Series Championships and Track Days for 2015. ZARS will continue to offer Advanced Riding School this Fall in the Minneapolis and St Paul area. More announcements will come soon on the 2016 schedule that will include Track Days at Brainerd International Raceway, High Plains Raceway and Elkhart’s Lake Road America.
