Brainerd, MN (June 29) – Zalusky Advanced Riding School and Track Days (ZARS) recently held the Shootout Championship and Rider Challenge Championships Series and Track Days, June 25-26.
The event was held at Brainerd International Raceway in conjunction with Lakes Jam, an outdoor concert featuring headliners Styx and Toby Keith. Several riders from all across the U.S.A. and Canada rode two different tracks in one weekend.
On June 25, riders took to the 2.5 mile Competition Course and on June 26, riders opened it up for the legendary Donnybrooke Road Course with North America’s fastest turn! The Shootout Series attracted several top riders including Kyle Ohnsorg and Scott Stall. The series presented by BlownConcepts.com awarded over $1100 in cash prizes to the top finishers in each of the classes.
On June 25, Scott Stall gridded up and took a commanding lead that took him all the way to the checkered flag in the GP 3/4 Expert with runner up Kyle Ohnsorg in 2nd. In the GP 1/2 Expert class, Jon Champ dominated once again to take the win.
For our novice classes, Joseph Mastain had a sizable lead and took home the GP3/4 win with runner up young gun Josh Harein.
On June 26, Kyle Ohnsorg had a strong lead on the field in GP Expert 3/4 to take the win with runner up Scott Stall and Chase Sellers finishing respectively in 3rd. In the GP 1/2 Expert class, Jon Champ put on an incredible performance from start to finish to take the win.
In the Novice ranks on May 30, it was a close finish with Joseph Mastain taking another checkered flag for GP 3/4 with Patrick Wagaman in 2nd and Josh Harein in 3rd.
ZARS continues to broaden the riding opportunities with the Rider Challenge for experienced Track Day riders. On June 26, brothers James Stanley and Jordan Zetterstrom battled to the end with Stanley taking the win at the last corner from younger brother Zetterstrom.
ZARS returns to Brainerd International Raceway (Minnesota) on July 9 for the next stop. In later July, ZARS heads West to High Plains Raceway (Deer Trail, Colorado), July 23-24.
